Barack Obama endorses Cruz as Republican nominee

Barack Obama endorses Ted Cruz for President

In a surprise press release the outgoing President Barack Obama has made a formal endorsement for the 2016 presidential race.

“Mr. Cruz is a real Leader,” Obama said in the release. “He represents the best of Canada, something this country needs. Like many of our best leaders he was born on foreign soil and will bring those not quite American values to the highest office in the USA and I endorse his candidacy for President of the United States”

Ted Cruz said he was “truly honored” to receive the endorsement.

“He is a great person and has had tremendous success and really showed the world what a Kenyan citizen could do,” Cruz said. “He believes in my home country and knows I’m not the one who can make America Great Again!”

The endorsement comes as candidates attempt to woo conservative voters in Iowa.
