Box Office: Marvel's 'Black Panther' Tops $500M After Record $65M Third Weekend

Disney-Marvel’s “Black Panther” has snagged a jaw-dropping $56.2 million in its third weekend in about 86% of international markets. That’s the third-biggest third weekend of all time, behind only Avatar ($69m in 2010) and Star: The Force Awakens ($90m in 2016).

“Black Panther,” Marvel Studios’ latest superhero offering, directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Chadwick Boseman as the king of a fictional African nation, now has a worldwide total of $897.7 million through Sunday.

In less than three weeks, “Black Panther” has become 47th highest grosser worldwide and the 10th highest domestic grosser of all time with $501.1 million.

The secret to the films shattering box-office has been credited with return audiences. It is not clear if cinema goers are seeing the movie more than once because they have enjoyed the film or due fact they might have missed something due to people excessively talking to the movie screen during the showing.

Chris W. suggests on stuff black people dig “If you do happen to find yourself in a movie theater where Black People are talking to the movie screen, if you wish to stay on good terms with Black People you should simply just forget about trying to follow the plot of the movie and join in with the Black People. In some cases you may even find it more enjoyable than watching the actual film.”
