Washington, DC, United States (4E) – The Secret Service has confirmed on Wednesday that they have started an investigation about New Hampshire State Senator Al Baldasaro , who is one of the advisers of Donald Trump, as he recently said that Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton should be executed for treason.

Baldasaro said that Clinton should be executed by firing squad due to her use of a private email server when she served as the Secretary of State during the first term of President Barack Obama. Secret Service spokesman Robert Hoback said in a statement on Wednesday, “The U.S. Secret Service is aware of this matter and will conduct the appropriate investigation.”

The comments of Baldasaro were first made on the Jeff Kuhner radio show. He said, “Hillary Clinton should be put in the firing line and shot for treason.” This is a more extreme request since most Republicans at the July convention in Cleveland asked only for the former Secretary of State to be jailed.

He was interviewed once again by WMUR and he said that death penalty should be the punishment of Clinton for using the private email server. He added, “As far as I’m concerned, it is treason and the penalty for treason is the firing squad — or maybe it’s the electric chair now.”

Baldasaro is a former Marine and calls himself the veteran advisor of the GOP presumptive nominee. Baldasaro has taken a major role in the Trump campaign last May when Trump criticized the media for its coverage of his promise to give $1 million to veterans groups.

One of the spokeswomen for Trump’s campaign team, Hope Hicks, said in a statement that the views of Baldasaro does not reflect Trump’s take on the issue. Hicks, however, did not say if Trump will cut ties with Baldasaro .

Clinton and her campaign team have not yet issued an official statement about Baldasaro .
