A Louisiana sheriff’s office said a deputy was able to rescue a cat found with its body pinned at the top of a closed garage door.
Deputy Mike Scott of the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, was called to a home where an animal was reportedly stuck in the residence. He arrived on scene and discovered several neighbors and construction workers at the house already trying to help.
“A cat had been stuck between a garage door of a residence and the wall,” said Scott. “Never in all of my years was I prepared to encounter what I saw upon my arrival,” he added.
The deputy and the other people removed the upper frame molding and were able to get the cat out alive.
The homeowner said Bella the cat must have been asleep on the garage door when he left earlier in the day and he did not notice.
Thankfully, Bella did not have any noticeable injuries.
Deputy Scott said he is “not much of a cat person”, but he wouldn’t want any kind of animal to suffer.
