Obama Boasts About 8 Years of ‘Remarkable Progress’ in New Year’s Day Tweet-storm

Obama looks back on 8 years of 'remarkable progress' in New Year's Day tweetstormWhile Obama and Trump reportedly maintain a productive line of communication ahead of the coming transition, the outgoing administration has taken steps to limit the president-elect upon taking office, so it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to interpret Obama’s latest tweets as a shot across Trump’s bow.

President Barack Obama has released a fire-storm of tweets meant to remind us all of the “remarkable progress” he has made over the past eight years.

The lame duck President touched on subjects such as the economy, clean energy, homosexual marriage, and obamacare.

The tweets were answered with a mix of responses most of which have questioned Obama’s legacy and progress.

The tweets come as Obama’s @POTUS handle is set to be transitioned to Trump. Obama’s tweets will be maintained, though, under a new handle — @POTUS44 — that will launch once he leaves office, the White House has said.

President-elect Donald Trump will take the oath of office on Jan. 20.
