Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – It is rumored that a “Will & Grace” reboot will be happening and accordingly, it will be streaming in Netflix.
Rumors about the “Will & Grace” reboot started after an election-themed video for the presidential elections this 2016 featured the foursome. The stars of “Will & Grace” are Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes. Accordingly, some people are in talks with the four in order to make a reboot of the series, which is said to have a 10-episode arc.
No deal has been made yet with any of the aforementioned stars or the creators of “Will & Grace,” David Kohan and Max Mutchnick . It remains unclear, however, if NBC will be airing the revival of the show or if Netflix will outbid them. None of the parties involved have commented on the possible “Will & Grace” revival as sources are saying that they are still early in the talks so it is unsure if the show could actually take place.
“Will & Grace” ran for eight seasons and won 16 Emmy awards. It was nominated 83 times. “Will & Grace” is about a single woman, a gay roommate, and their two friends. The stars were able to earn $600,000 per episode and the show remains a hit when re-runs are aired.
Messing shared recently that she would never say never to a “Will & Grace” revival. She noted that there are platforms where six or 10 episodes could be done for a series and she does not believe that they would be coming back to TV again as she thinks that having a shorter-lived series via streaming could be a fun and fresh opportunity of “Will & Grace.”
McCormack, on the other hand, said that they are proud of the series finale of “Will & Grace” and that if ever a revival will take place, he and the others would be open to talk about it.
The cast of “Will & Grace” appeared on the “# VoteHoney” video and was set to appear like it was part of the sitcom. It has more than six million views
