Navasota, TX, United States (4E) – A woman was fatally hit by a train while she was out modeling on the tracks in Navasota, Texas.

The woman was identified as Fredzania Thompson. Accordingly, she went to the tracks as she thought it was the perfect background for her photoshoot. She wanted to make a look book to launch her modeling career.

Thompson was only 19 and her fiancé, Earl Chapman, said he talked to her moments before she went to the location. He said Thompson told him he was headed to the photo shoot but never thought it would be the last time they would talk. The model was also expecting her first child with Chapman.

The mother of Thompson, Akamie Stephenson, said the photographer told them she was moving and she was off the tracks. However, she did not move far enough that is why the train hit her. Stephenson also said she thinks her daughter’s stilettos made it difficult for her to move faster.

Authorities added she stood between two sets of train tracks when a BNSF Railway train approached her direction. Thompson was able to move out of the way but when she moved, another train was approaching from the other direction.

Her mother said, “I’m very hurt about the situation because she was so young, but this is what she wanted. She wanted to become a model.” Her friends gathered at the tracks for a makeshift vigil.

An investigation is underway. A GoFundMe account was set up by her family in order to cover her funeral expenses.
